Using the power of the guardian spirit Kusanagi, Takechiyo travels across different historical eras—including the Sengoku, Heian, and Bakumatsu periods—to purify “The Crucible,” a realm born from negative energy. A major gameplay evolution is the ability to switch instantly between two distinct combat styles: the classic, stance-based Samurai style and the agile, evasion-focused Ninja style, allowing for more fluid encounters with both returning and new historical figures like Himiko and Hattori Hanzo.
