It is a point and click time limit based system where you manage four stats, and you get three turns to interact with Liu Shan. You need to survive five years to win, there is no endless mode. Each year consists of 12 days (or months in this context) and each year you have a certain goal to work towards. By the way, the VN choices DO matter for the ending. Each day you get to make two decisions that increase and decrease certain stats or just purely decrease/increase stats. There is a very limited number of decision prompts in the game, so it is very easy to memorize the best choices of each decision, but you can also save scum if you want. It gets to a point where it is simply a chore due to its repetitiveness. As I mentioned in the first paragraph, you cannot bed Liu Shan at anytime you want, and its like a princess raiser where you train up her stats and dress her up.
