A Quiet Place The Road Ahead, an upcoming first-person survival horror title from Stormind Games and Saber Interactive, aims to adapt the world of the titular film series for the gaming medium. The A Quiet Place franchise, which got its start with the 2018 John Krasinski-directed movie of the same name, tells the tales of ordinary individuals who try to survive in a post-apocalyptic world that’s been overrun by a dangerous alien species after a meteorite strike. Canonically referred to as Death Angels, these violent, quick-footed aliens cannot see, but have hypersensitive hearing skills to make up for it, and are prone to killing any animal or human that makes an audible noise in the vicinity around them. They serve as the primary antagonists of the A Quiet Place films and A Quiet Place The Road Ahead.

Although A Quiet Place The Road Ahead is set in the same timeline as the movies, the game features an entirely new cast of characters. Gamers play as a college student named Alex Taylor, who suffers from asthma and makes noise every time she uses her inhaler in order to breathe. She, with the help of her boyfriend, Martin, has to fend off alien threats in order to survive. In terms of gameplay, The Road Ahead is similar to other survival horror titles like Amnesia: The Dark Descent or Outlast in that it is primarily centered around stealth and doesn’t contain much combat. However, unlike those games, The Road Ahead innovates in one key area by featuring a microphone detection mechanic.
