it and lost all interest in the game. Don’t get me wrong. Graphically and atmospherically it is great. Really enjoyed how you could change the display to be more traditional horror too. But I could not get past the main characters. The man you play as at the start is incredibly unlikable in my opinion.

I think you can do an unlikable character right, but this is not how. Every object I interacted with resulted in a very religious and judgemental response. For example, as soon as you wake up, you can interact with a basin in the wall. You character immediately sounds annoyed, calling it sacrilegious. Like, calm down man. It’s just a basin, who cares. He also loses his bible and immediately assumes his sister stole it off his person while he slept. Like, what the hell? He goes on about this without any proper elaboration or examples of this being a thing his sister would do.
