For all these questions and more, Mad Cream Games presents you an overloading artistic experience, full of brush strokes and ink spots, where Chopin play the sax and Mozart the guitar, where love turns into hate, and pity into madness: There are more than 20 chapters, but only a handful of them have any sort of interactive element. They also don’t last very long. You can quickly read through a chapter in five minutes if you skim the text and don’t pause to contemplate the artwork. On the other hand, you don’t pick these type of games for speedrunning.

Another difference is that you are not drowned in a wall of words that serves simply to prolong the plot. Fair enough, there isn’t much of a narrative in this game. It features a traditional love tale where a man falls in love with a woman who is already promised to another. All this with words of a painter who is writing letters to his friend. Words are accompanied by paintings or images that come in a variety of styles and themes. Some components in the picture move or let you interact with them because a static image would be quite dull. You might need to drag the mouse to paint something or bring the sun down to make it night.

Most interactions are necessary to advance the game. Moving the mouse over areas of interest will quickly reveal them; the default quill icon will change as a result. Although there are a few rare bonus interaction spots that grant you an achievement, I would have preferred a little more substance within each chapter.
